A Night at the Aria

March 28, 2019 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

A romantic love story led these two to unite their families at the Aria closing out 2018.  Jill & Dan first met each other through their work.  Dan worked for many years abroad at many exotic locations.  Jill would travel often to spend time with Dan and is where their love truly blossomed.   Straight out of a movie scenario!  On December 30th, Jill & Dan celebrated with many friends and family at the Aria in Minneapolis.   Their ceremony took place in the great front hall under the many sparkling chandeliers and were surrounded by candlelight and their guests.  After the ceremony they enjoyed many great memories of their love story along with amazing food from Surdyk’s, cocktails including their signature cocktail (French 75) and danced the night away.  Browse a small handful of the 800 photos that Lucas Botz Photography captured of their celebration.

Military Wedding at St Annes Church and Reception at Lafayette Country Club

March 1, 2019 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

There is something about a military wedding that makes me emotional every time.   Anna & Al united as a couple at St Annes Church in Hamel this past spring.  Anna wore a sleeveless lace wedding gown with a long cathedral veil and Al and a few of his groomsman were dressed in their dress blues and the remainder in suits.  Anna’s Bridesmaids wore shades of nude and blush.  The day was perfect with blue skies, warm temps and puffy clouds overhead.  The Chapel at St Anne’s was breathtaking with high cathedral ceilings, large stained glass windows and a front entry grand stair case entrance.

Bride & Bridesmaids Bouquets of Ivory, white & blush flowersAnna and her bridesmaids carried matching bouquets of different textures of eucalyptus, ivory and white roses, ranunculus and large delicate peonies in blush.

After the ceremony guests joined the bride and groom at Lafayette Country Club in the Lake Minnetonka area in Grand Ballroom at Lafayette Country Club - FLorals by Bloomberry Floraltheir Grand Ballroom.  It was picturesque!   The room was set with a harvest style head table with tall grand arrangements of florals matching the brides bouquet and taper candles.   The set-up of the head table made the room feel “grand”.  The guests tables were set with matching centerpieces and plenty of candlelight that set the scene for romance.

This was the first of many weddings we had the pleasure of designing at the Lafayette Country Club this past wedding season.

February 14, 2019 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

Bloomberry recently did the floral for a wedding at the Redeemed Farm in Scandia.  Redeemed Farm is an aspirational wedding venue aspiring to provide a farmstead wedding experience.  What a gorgeous venue and setting it was.

The floral work was designed around romantic prairie like flowers which fit right into this venue.  Take a look at some of photos showcasing Bloomberry Florals work thanks to photographer Ali Hormann.

From April Blizzards to Record Heat – 2 Styled Wedding Flower Shoots

Modern Spring Blizzard Wedding Flowers Photo Shoot

Wedding Flowers - Blizzard Photo ShootThis past April, Bloomberry Floral had a wedding flower show which was reschedule last minute, due to weather conditions. We had already bought the flowers for the show and our design team had already started working on the floral pieces….so, what do you do when life gives you a blizzard in the middle of April? Here at Bloomberry Floral, the answer was obvious, we have a photo shoot! Granted, this was our first photo shoot in a blizzard, but we were all up for the challenge. This was one of the most fun and memorable shoots, to date. We would like to thank our wonderful models (Victoria and Renny), our fantastic photographer (Mark) and the Bloomberry team for braving the frigid cold and snow, to deliver some amazing shots.

Summer Bohemian Wedding Flowers

Wedding Flower Bridal Bouquet Spring Heat PhotoshootOn the other side of the spectrum, the second wedding flower photo shoot was done a couple of weeks ago, on one of the hottest day. We were asked by Paisley Photography, for a bridal bouquet and some floral pieces. We were also asked to decorate a bridal teepee for their photography workshop. On one of the hottest day in May, with the vehicle packed to the brim with flora’s and of course, the ac not working that day…. we drove from Medina to Zimmerman. If you know anything about our design team; we really had fun with this request and might have gone a little overboard. However, one of our biggest regret was not knowing there would be a baby goat there. Had we known about the baby goat; we would have adorned her/him with a beautiful floral piece. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks so much to the Paisley Photography team for including us and for the amazing photos.

There were a couple of firsts for us at Bloomberry Floral; first wedding flower photo shoot in a snow storm and first time partnering with Paisley Ann Photography & Kinderbella. Even though these were firsts; it will not be our last. We believe that with the right team, we can achieve anything. Fortunately for us, Bloomberry has one of the best teams out there! As much as we truly love working with our clients and created the weddings of their dreams, there is nothing like having the opportunity to let our creative juices flow and have the opportunity to show case some of our own original pieces Thank you so much to everyone that help pull this all together and we look forward to working with each and every one of you, again.

Top Mistake Couples Make When Styling Their Wedding

February 25, 2017 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

I see it all the time, the same top mistake couples make when styling their wedding. They get their hearts set on a style for their wedding after browsing the beautiful images on pinterest and instagram.

I find myself spending hours enjoying the beautiful designs that are posted on social media. Many of these images are the way many wedding vendors are advertising and sharing their work with others. We fall in love with these looks. Couples begin to dream about incorporating these looks into their own days. The top mistake couples make make when styling their wedding is the most important step that should be considered when selecting a style and color palette and that is the location of the ceremony and reception. When selecting the color palette and style for their day they should considered how these selections will complement their venue selection. One color may look amazing at their ceremony site but clash with the style of their venue. I tell many couples when meeting with them to think of them separately. What will make both sites look breathtaking?

Consider this when planning your upcoming wedding. First consider your locations then take those images and start the process of selecting your palette and style. Use the available tools that are available like instagram, pinterest and other wedding sites to see similar wedding venues styled for other events and weddings. Use these images then when making your own selections. By doing this you will pull together the entire look of your wedding to be visually pleasing all around.

Abby & Aaron Buffalo MN Wedding Florist

August 26, 2015 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

We recently had the pleasure to design the wedding flowers for Abby & Aaron in Buffalo MN.   Abby was such a sweetheart and so much fun to work with.  We met with Abby and her mother-in-law to be and Abby shared her vision of how she wanted her wedding flowers to compliment her wedding.  We worked together to make that happen and still stay within her budget.  Abby and Aaron were married at the Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo, Minnesota on a breathtakingly beautiful day, followed by a reception at Rockwoods in Otsego.  The day was captured by local photographer Laura Alpizar.  Browse her beautiful photos…

Tips On Choosing The Right Wedding Venues In Minneapolis

November 11, 2014 By //  by Anne Monroe Leave a Comment

Trying to decide on the perfect wedding venue in Minneapolis?  We’ve come up with some great tips to find the perfect venues that fit your Minneapolis Wedding Venuesbudget, your style and the time of year.  If you’re like most brides you want something different, something unique and something memorable for your special day.

Some of the best venue options include:

  • The Woods Chapel in Orono an outdoor chapel set among gorgeous trees, beautiful landscaping and a lovingly romantic pond view. Amphitheater style seating will accommodate the smallest or largest of crowds.
  • Wayzata Country Club in Wayzata offers a beautiful setting withing an exclusive member owned country club.  The Tudor style clubhouse landscape includes large Oaks, sprawling flower gardens and a warm and inviting feel from every aspect.
  • Al & Alma’s Charter Cruises on Minnetonka offers the ability to get married overlooking the sunset while cruising the open waters of Lake Minnetonka.
  • Aster Cafe in Minneapolis was named as the best place to go on a first date by City Pages so it only seems fit to have a wedding there as well!  Aster is a smaller wedding venue located in the historic warehouse area along the Mississippi River.
  • Nicolette Island Pavelion is an award-winning premier historic venue in Mpls.  The Pavelion hosts unique events year-round and can accommodate many budget and guests.

Tips:  When selecting the venue for your wedding make sure to keep the following items in mind:

  • Parking – how many guests will you be inviting and is there enough parking with an easy way to get in and out.
  • Cost – venues can rage from hundreds to thousands so make sure to check costs before proceeding to far.
  • The time of year and weather – be especially mindful of this for venue that are outdoors but may not offer cover for rain etc.  If an outdoor wedding is what you’re looking for make sure to ask the venue if they have or offer tents, gazebos or any other form of shelter in case the weather changes.
  • Decor – don’t forget to keep your decorating ideas, flower designs and other aspects of your wedding in mind and make sure its fitting to your choice of location.

Bloomberry Floral has been creating one of a kind weddings for years and has the experience that can help you not only create the best wedding flowers in Minneapolis but also help you select a venue that will work best for you.  If you’d like more tips on choosing the right wedding venues in Minneapolis contact our design team today!
